Miracle League of Blaine Players and Coaches & St. Kate’s Buddies

Do you or someone you know need community volunteer hours for your job or college credits? Are you a person who likes to volunteer for worthy causes? Have a big heart and lots of love for children?

We have several positions available for board members and chair people in our nonprofit organization that serves children with special needs and their families in the entire north metro.

Volunteer Opportunities

Treasurer

Description: Financial management background a plus. Work with President and Vice President regarding approved purchases, reconcile the bank accounts, keep accurate financial records, work with the accountant regarding filing taxes, answer directly to President and Vice President. Must attend all scheduled board meetings (once a month for one hour). Volunteer time is approximately two to three hours per month.

Secretary

Description: Keep accurate records in Google Docs of meeting minutes, agendas, organization records, updates to Secretary of State filings, administrative tasks, answering emails from contact forms, correspondence to and from sponsors, parents or the league, and other. Answers directly to President and Vice President. Must attend all scheduled board meetings (once a month for one hour). Volunteer time is approximately two to three hours per month.

Registration Chairperson

Description: Handles registration of league players, orders jerseys, medals/trophies, etc. Answers directly to President and Vice President Must attend all scheduled board meetings (once a month for one hour). Volunteer time is approximately two to three hours per month but can be more during registration season (February and March).

Assistant League Director

Description: Oversees coaches and volunteers, schedules volunteers for each game and deals directly with volunteers, answers emails and inquiries regarding volunteering, umpiring, and coaching. Answers directly to President/VP/League Director. Must be able to pass a background check. Must attend all scheduled board meetings (once a month for one hour). Volunteer time is approximately two to three hours per month, depending on the season.

Coach

Description: No coaching experience necessary. Pitch (as needed) or catch during games, work lineup for players, answer any questions parents might have. Have a love for kids and making our community better. Must be able to pass a background check. Coaching hours will vary person to person but typically are one to two hours per week.

Volunteer

Volunteer opportunities include: coaching on an as-needed basis, assistant coach, helping players during the game, umpiring, announcing the games and running the sound system, board positions

Sponsors

Description: Sponsors play a special role in our league in that they enable us to charge a minimal amount to each child to cover their jersey cost, and the sponsors pick up the rest. You can sponsor a whole team, scholarships for kids, and/or individual days of games or a big event. Please email board@miracleleagueofblaine.org for more details.

Interested?

All applicants must pass a background check and are strictly on a permanent volunteer basis. As we are a nonprofit organization that operates on a small budget, these positions are non-compensated.
