How to Help

Volunteers are needed

Players are paired with a “Buddy” who helps them play the game.

A buddy’s role is to assist the player both offensively and defensively, as little or as much as each individual player requires. Buddies also assist the player in being an active participant in the game and to look out for the safety of the player at all times.

Every “Buddy” counts!

Miracle League of Blaine team members are assigned buddies who assist them in hitting the ball and running/walking/rolling the bases. Buddies are fabulous volunteers that guide our special ballplayers through our game; buddies can be fellow schoolmates, parents, college students, business leaders or anyone who wishes to volunteer their time to give a child the gift of baseball. Sometimes with fielding, throwing, or batting help, and yet realizing each of our players has special gifts, just like themselves, only different.

Volunteers are needed to coach teams, be buddies and cheer on the kids. If you or someone you know are interested in helping out, please contact the league directors.

The success of our league and the ability to offer this opportunity is highly dependent on volunteers. To volunteer, please contact the league directors.

Sponsor our League

The Miracle League of Blaine relies on sponsors and donations to allow children of all abilities to play baseball. Please consider donating or sponsoring our league.

Donations / Current Needs

  • The Miracle League of Blaine needs to repair its field. As the field is 10 years old now, it is coming apart at the seams along the baselines. This has become a tripping hazard for some of our kids. It needs to be repaired as soon as possible.
  • Because the field is 10 years old and was built on top of blacktop and with latex, it is coming apart in spots. We will be fundraising soon to rebuild the field. We believe this will be a two-year project.
  • The League will also be fundraising to build an inclusive playground on the same site as the current playground. We believe this is a 4-year-goal. For an idea of the playground we will be building, click here.
